About

I am a horticulturist, who has been an estate gardener for the past sixteen years.   Since 2000 I have worked at multiple estates on Mount Desert Island.  I’ve maintained various gardens, operated greenhouses and grown and arranged cut flowers. I began designing flowers for weddings and special events over 20 years ago.  I love the process of growing cut flowers with designs in mind. From germinating seedlings to placing the arrangements in the home, the entire process is extremely fulfilling to me

I am inspired by the whole slow flower movement.  Using locally grown flowers and flower farms that practice fair trade and sustainable methods are my first choice, I use them whenever possible.  It is uplifting to see that many of the flower trends are going green.  Our earth is important

Family is also extremely important to me.  “Floret” is taken from my grandmother’s name, Florette.  I remember listening to my grandfather speak at their 50th wedding anniversary about how her name meant “little flower. In my home growing up, a family gathering was the means for a celebration.  A celebration of love, togetherness, and making lasting memories.  My mother always had something on the table.  A vase filled with flowers from her garden or wildflowers from our field.  Flowers equal love which equals family celebrations

I love working with clients and assisting them in bringing their vision into a reality. Attention to detail and special touches always accompany my designs. I look forward to working with you either as a bride, a homeowner hosting a dinner party or any event where flowers are a necessity
